Nancy and her husband, Chuck, became involved with Pro Kids | The First Tee San Diego about seven years ago when friends introduced them to the program. They both sponsor Home and Home tournaments every year at CCRB – she for the girls and he for the boys. (Home and Home events provide opportunities for Pro Kids’ participants to spend time with mentors like Nancy and Chuck, playing golf, learning life skills and just sharing time together informally). They feel strongly that it is important that the kids have a lot of opportunity to play on larger courses than their home course at Colina Park. CCRB has a foundation that promotes junior golf and welcomes the kids to come and play.
Nancy is also active on the Girls Mentoring Committee at Pro Kids | The First Tee San Diego.
“It is fun to be with the girls, watching them grow socially and academically,” she states. “Spend-ing time with these young women, you truly feel that you are making a difference in someone’s life. And golf with them is great fun too. We learn a lot from each other playing a round a golf.”
Ms. Lindsay taught visually impaired students in Escondido. Now retired, she and her husband travel and are involved with the San Diego Zoological Society and other animal charities and dog rescues.
